Born in the SF Bay area and raised in So Cal in the 1960's & 70's, I grew up in a family with business and hobby ties to some of the Early Hot Rod Pioneers & Racers like - Mickey Thompson... Dean Moon... Howard Noble... Sandy Rainey... Orv Elgie....
I began racing on the many tracks in Southern California in the 1970's -
First motorcycles and soon Cars at tracks like - Lions, OCIR, Irwindale, Carlsbad, "Big Willie & Tomika's" LA County - Brotherhood Raceway...
First employed in the auto repair industry in 1975, by 1976 I had begun my Professional Career in the High Performance, Street Rod & Racing Industries in So Cal.... Working for Tommy Baker I was introduced to more early Hot Rodding & Racing Greats.... Clark Cagle, Dan Woods, Ed Iskenderian, and others... I was building & modifying Hot Rods for a living....
In 1979 I moved to Northern California to "hone" my skills as a High Performance Engine Builder & Machinist, working in some Small, Quality Shops & managing a Production Engine Re builder before opening my own shop in 1989 - "Holiday Engine & Machine"- in the Ca Delta... Over the years I developed a reputation for building reliable, race winning engines. My hard work and attention to detail paid off With Track Records and Series Championships in many different forms of Racing - NASCAR Stock Cars.... Mini Sprints... IDBA Drag Boats.... IFM Road Racers.....
At the same time I did not neglect the "vintage" market. I was known for my repair & resurrection work on a variety antique engines...
In 2001 I began building my Lo 9sec "T" Roadster.... It was not long before people began to ask "Will you fix my Hot Rod?".... As I listened to some of the horror stories these folks had I realized there was a need for
an Affordable, Professional, Collector Car Repair Service... a MOBILE one, where car owners could see exactly what was happening to their car... and thus KensMobileHotRodRepair.com was born.....
